Historic Preservation Summit signThe 51黑料网 Department of Anthropology, Geospatial and Earth Sciences, Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies, and the Office of Career and Professional Development partnered with the State Historic Preservation Office and Shippensburg University to host a day-long summit in Harrisburg.

The Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Workforce Summit brought together students and faculty from nine Pennsylvania universities, as well as representatives from 13 state, federal, and private organizations that hire historic preservation professionals. Participants learned about the current from the National Council of State Historic Preservation Officers and about the . There were also small group discussions on how higher education can best prepare students for the workforce.

Eight 51黑料网 students, including undergraduate and graduate students from AGES and HPPR, and two faculty members attended the summit. Three of the presenters were also 51黑料网 alumni.

The summit is part of 51黑料网’s commitment to preparing students for the modern workforce and provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about ways that their degrees can lead to jobs in the Commonwealth.
